Emily Procter born as Emily Mallory Procter on October 8th, 1968 in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA is a beautiful American film and television actress.

Emily Procter was born to physician Dr. Bill Procter and his volunteer wife Barbara Jones. They divorced two years after Emily was born. Yet they raised their daughter together. Emily Procter dreamt of becoming an actress despite the fact that she wasn't allowed to watch television during her formative years. Emily studied at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. She later graduated in journalism and dance from East Carolina University. Emily became the member of 'The Alpha Delta Pi sorority'.

After her graduation, Emily stormed into television to anchor the weather at WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. She later moved to Los Angeles at the advice of another Raleigh-born actress Sharon Lawrence to make a career in acting. With the support of her parents, Emily joined a two-year acting course in Los Angeles. Long before she completed her studies in acting, Emily Procter began appearing in minor roles in several television shows and films since 1995.

Emily first appeared in a single episode of "Platypus Man" in 1995. She has since appeared in television dramas, films and made-for-television movies. Her notable films include "Leaving Las Vegas" {1995} with Nicolas Cage, "Jerry Maguire" {1996} with Tom Cruise, and "Breast Men" {1997}, "Forever Fabulous" {1999} and other films; and single episodic television shows like "Friends" {1995} and "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" {1996}. Not satisfied with her career Emily decided to quit acting altogether. But a call from NBC to audition for the role on "The West Wing" made her to reconsider her decision to quit.

Emily finally bagged the role on "The West Wing" {12 episodes: 2000-2002 and 2006}. She played the role of a Whitehouse lawyer Ainsley Hayes and won critical acclaim for her performance. Later Emily Procter bagged the role of Calleigh Duquesne on "CSI: Miami" {143 episodes: 2002-2008} on CBS. Emily Procter combing her beauty and innate talent gave a magnificent performance as Calleigh Duquesne, a ballistic specialist who with her tough but reserved demeanor cracks complicated crimes.

Emily Procter who proved that she is one of the finest actresses on American television is yet to get a right break in Hollywood. Her magnificent acting talents that would turn movies into major hits needs to be further explored and exploited.
